Chair

The Chair of Structural Engineering with emphasis on Structural Design and Existing Structures was directed by Professor Thomas Vogel and existed from 1 October 1992 to 31 January 2021.

Mission statement

• The education of professional engineers in the discipline of structural engineering.
• The evaluation of existing and planned structures, investigating the relevant methods to satisfy new or changed requirements.
• The transfer of knowledge to practice through design code development and continuous education.
• The provision of consulting services in cases with the highest demands in terms of judgment and independency.
